The incident happened on Monday afternoon, Jan. 13 at the Andalusia School in Yonkers at 380 Walnut St., according to Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief of Personnel Joseph Citrone.
Citrone said an electrical short occurred at the building, which caused smoke and blew out some panels and breakers. Con Edison is now working to fix the problem.
Parts of the building also lost power, Citrone said, adding that the building was evacuated as a result on Monday.
No injuries were reported.
In an announcement on Monday night, the school said classes on Tuesday, Jan. 14 would be held remotely.
